I hear you are doing great things and interested in learning more about the areas we call STEM. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are all interesting fields and cover a broad range of opportunities for studies in school and further on in your career.
I would encourage you to be curious, ask questions and take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about what possibilities exist in STEM careers. You are filled with potential and the only way to uncover what you truly love doing is by trying new things, learning from mistakes and taking the time to explore different ideas.
Many years ago there were not many women in technology careers and while the numbers are increasing, we still have more room to improve. Us women bring a unique value to any area and have the same potential for success in STEM as men. We are brilliant, we are creative, and we bring a diverse point of view to any conversation. I began working in a telecommunications company and fell in love with working closely with our technology. This inspired me to pursue my graduate degree in network and communications management. I never knew my path would take me down this journey but I am happy I took a chance and followed what sparked my interests.
Have faith in your abilities, be confident in what you can do and take the chance to learn all you can. The future belongs to YOU and we are waiting to see all the great things you are capable of doing. Go be awesome and shine bright!!
