My name is Israel and I’m a Supervisor at Verizon. As a minority, I’ve faced some chalIenges along the way and I want to encourage you to not let anything get in the way of your dreams and what you want to achieve. Challenge yourself and have a plan to overcome obstacles that may stand in your way. Challenge biases by coming up with strategies that help you and your organization improve. Educate yourself by attending workshops or training that will help with diversity and inclusion. Find a mentor that you can talk to about challenges they’ve faced and how they’ve overcome them. Attend cultural events to help learn from others and gain new perspectives of ways to overcome obstacles.
