I wanted to write to you about S.T.E.M. and introduce myself to you! I am very excited to be reaching out to you to encourage you and provide a few words from my experience. My name is Anna and I’ve been in the Project Management profession for over 30 years supporting the technology industry. Times have changed very much since I was growing up and put myself through college and I believe that there are a world of opportunities for girls to pursue a path in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Face it, the world really needs YOU! Everything around us is grounded in S.T.E.M. If you think about, beautiful nature that is all around us with butterflies, my favorite, they are absolute marvels of science. The field has so many paths to explore and I encourage you to ask questions to your parents, teachers, discuss with your friends and google on-line to find all the information that you can in this very important field. Women are very much not represented in this awesome field and we need to change that and it starts with YOU! You and your talents will go far to make this world a better place as you will be equipped with knowledge and expertise to apply all that you will discover and learn in this field. Just a reminder, you can do anything that you put your mind to, you will be pleasantly surprised at what you will be able to accomplish, have patience, confidence in yourself and it is totally the best way to learn and grow by making mistakes, that is how we learn. I want to wish you all the best in your endeavors and just take one day at a time and listen to yourself, if you get discouraged, that is okay… think it through and pick yourself back up again as tomorrow is a brand new day. You alone own the right to decide for yourself what you want to be when you grow up… be proud and wish you so much success and fun on your S.T.E.M. journey! You totally got this!!
