Value the diversity of thought.

Hey there!

I hope this finds you well.  I would like to start by telling you a little bit about myself.  I started my career with Verizon 36 years ago as a 411 Operator.  I was in this position for a little over 10 years.  I then had the opportunity to transfer to the Database Maintenance Center for 911.  This is where the 911 database administrators manage all Landline telephone numbers ensuring the customer is listed at a correct address for emergency responders.   A key element of managing data is making sure it’s accessible to those who are authorized to view it and protected from those that aren’t.  Database administrators help to keep all of that information safe.  Hard work and continued learning have me now in a Senior Management position.

Talented and skilled people are essential to the health of any company.  More and more information is being collected online, and a variety of industries are becoming increasingly reliant on data to make business decisions so positions for database administers are growing fast.  With this being said it would be good to focus on computer-related subjects.  Actively seek a range of views by getting together with people of different background and capabilities.  Encourage and inspire other to act inclusively, to engage and value the diversity of thought and background within and beyond.

Hard work, determination and the ability to accept differences and able to work through them is a key part of building your dream.
