STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Why is STEM for you? You can be ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO BE IN THIS WORLD! The world is your oyster. DO you love Science, technology, engineering or math? The world needs more people that look like you. We need more leaders that are willing to go after a passion that will help them to be successful in life. Dream big and keep learning.
The world needs someone that looks like you in STEM! Every team should have representation from each culture. It is important for the African American culture to be included. We can source to new heights in the STEM world. Don’t limit yourself. Continue to challenge yourself and grow. Diversity is a gift to the world. It takes the best of each culture and blends them together and highlights the goodness from each culture.
If you look around and do not see people that look like you, remember that and help someone else that may be interested in STEM. No two people have the same history or background. We all bring differences and skills to the table. Not everyone is going to welcome you with open arms. But every no will help you to grow! Just keep thinking about what you can do next to overcome that obstacle. Some people will be threatened by you just because they do not know who you are or what you bring to the table. You do not need their approval. But you can be very successful showing them your them your strengths and positive attitude.
The biggest success will be you continuing to grow and pulling others up with you. You can do and be whatever you would like. Don’t let one no stop you. I wish you well in your journey. You were made for this. So keep your head up and be the best you that you can be.
