Hey there TechDiva!

My name is Kira and I am a women currently working in the career of Cyber Security. All though this career is fun and exciting, I did not originally want to be in information security. I had so many different interests, but I knew I want to do something that mattered and helped my community. I went into a local program that encouraged STEM careers and it introduced me to even more interesting fields; like Cyber security, environmental science, and software engineering. I tried EVERYTHING, but eventually I found my way to a hacking challenge and from there to Cyber Security.

I find this STEM career to be the most rewarding to me, as I get to protect and aid victims from people who wish to steal their information and valuables. In this day and age our lives are all online. You and I both know that we hold the world in our hands on our IPhone. With all that information so easily accessible it is just as easy for someone to steal it and really hurt people. Every day I get the opportunity to try and prevent more people from becoming victims, making every day rewarding and worth the hard work.

No matter what career you choose to work towards there is always as opportunity to find rewarding work in STEM. I wish you the best of luck and encouragement!
