Explore your passions.
Hey there!
My name is Tanya Sains, and I work for Verizon Wireless in the Network Engineering group. I am currently a Program Manager, but have spent 20 years in Project Management and Coordination. I want to encourage you to explore your curiosity and passions with every STEM opportunity available to you. It is often a myth that you must have a science or math degree to become an engineer; while often that may be true, there are also so many opportunities and backgrounds within this industry. If you have a curious mind on how processes are created, how the design of something is brought to life, or just a passion for learning, STEM is for you!
My background and degree is in Business Management, but I found myself interested in how things came to life from a simple idea. My career started off with joining the administration team, as there were not many women in the role of engineering. However, quickly my curiosity and logical mindframe allowed me to venture into running full scale engineering projects across multiple regions. I guide amazing & brilliant teams through each process of building a wireless cell site, and have been a part of some amazing design feats including Super Bowl and Formula 1 events. I encourage you to never stop learning, never stop being curious, and most importantly never stop asking questions! I can’t wait to see you one day walking the halls of Verizon! Congratulations on leading the way!
Always,
Tanya Sains
