I hope this letter finds you energized and ready to create. I wanted to write a letter of support for you, your peers and the organization. For too long, we have lacked diversity in the technology field. Diversity is important, aside from just being the right thing to do, because it allows for diversity of thought in approaching challenges and opportunities.
Your unique lens, honed by your unique experiences, where you come from, how you were raised and the perspective unique to being a woman of color, allows you to approach problems in a way that someone without those experiences or identity cannot. As we look to expand our technological abilities as a society, you are critical to our success, don’t give up, don’t take no for an answer and continue to be who you are as you push as forward.
