Welcome to your STEM journey. As you continue on your path, it's important to take time for yourself and to clear your mind. Learning and studying can take such a toll on our mental health.

  • Prioritize - It is so important to actually have a plan. Planning what you’re going to study and when. Will help take the stress off of whatever the task or project is. It’s easier to break things down instead of just jumping all in.

  • Take Breaks - Taking breaks is so helpful. You want to make sure to give your mind a break. Don’t try to cram everything in at one time. This will cause tiredness, and fatigue. Instead just walk away and breathe and then go back to it.

  • Stay Positive - Remembering that as long as you’re prepared and retain the knowledge you gained from your study material. You will do great. Think positive and try not to let yourself get overwhelmed.

  • Social Media - Stay off social media when studying. This is such a distraction and will end up burning up precious time. Staying focused from distractions is key when you’re really trying to retain information.

  • Hydrate - Staying hydrated is crucial. You need to ensure that you have the energy to focus properly. I know sometimes it’s hard to think about this when you’re really in a grove. But taking a moment to eat and hydrate will be better than drinking energy drinks. I promise.

These are just a few suggestions to help you create good study habits. I wish you all the success in your journey. Oh and when things get tough, rough or you get stuck…remember you are capable of more than you’ll ever know. Smile… you got this!!
