Get inspired

The future of business is technology.
Think about all of the technology you use every day. Think about how some people (often older people) have no idea how to use this technology. But now imagine 5-10 years into the future. Everyone who grew up using high tech will be using it as adults and in business. The future of business is technology. Business means opportunity -- both financially and career growth.
Those who learn how best to create and use technology will be successful. That foundation starts with learning the foundations. Learn Technology (or any Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) as it will prepare you to be successful.

Accomplish your dreams and goals.
My name is Karsaun, I want to take this time to tell you how proud I am of you! You choosing to be an innovator is amazing!! This journey may be challenging, but it will be so much more of a reward!!! I have faith that you will accomplish all your dreams and goals!!! It is Science, technology, Engineering and math that shape our society!!!
Never forget how important it is for you to show other girls of color that anything is possible!!!

When you are learning, you are growing.
As a Black Girl who works in technology, I got my start in high school and college before computers were a big thing! I wanted to challenge myself and stay in an environment where you are always learning. When you are learning, you are GROWING!

Pursuing coding.
Did you know that approx 3.7 million students are projected to have graduated from high school in 2021? And many of them will move onto college and into the workforce. But not all of them will have technical skills such as the ones you are developing in coding.

Continue to push forward for your dreams.
My advice is to continue to push forward for your dreams. If possible pursue higher education. That could be through trade school, community college, technical school, or a 4-year college. The goal is to continue to enlighten your life through the passion of learning new things. To be an entrepreneur you still need to have the passion and know-how for new things, new adventures, new experiences. You owe it to yourself to go as far as life will take you.

Girls Rock!
GIRLS ROCK!!!!! Having the skills to communicate in computer language is a universal Girl Power right and global community responsibility. Thank you for forging into the future. A Verizon V Teamer-Mz Patt

Black girls are the future.
I am a leader at Verizon who has been working here for over 20 years. I am so encouraged to see black girls taking an interest in STEM. Years ago we were told this was a job for boys and men; well I am here to tell you that was not the right mindset. Black girls are the future, have the talents and the skills to be successful in codeing.

Inspiration and mentorship.
I get it! STEM is a male-dominated area of interest and you may often find yourself feeling isolated, unheard, and unvalidated. I am here to tell you, there is HOPE!

Take the digital frontier by storm.
My name is Sara and I do employee communications for Verizon. I’m excited about the ways technology has evolved communication in ways that we never thought possible 10 or 20 years ago. It’s crucial that young women like you take part of developing technologies.

Make the most of it.
Hi! my name is Scott. I work for Verizon Wireless and find it super important for more students to choose a STEM major/career.
To me, there are many reasons for choosing a STEM major/career.

Failure is necessary for any learning curve.
My name is Sharon and I would like to share some encouraging words with you that have encouraged me through my journey. If you feel lost, let these words inspire you to keep pushing forward.

Refuse to put yourself down.
I am so excited about your future - and I thank you for taking the time to make it happen. It is so important to show up in spaces where there aren’t many such as yourself represented, so shine - and lead the way for other girls and girls of color who have not yet taken such steps.

Stand your ground, be yourself.
I am a black woman, which like yourself, decided to study technology at an early age. School can be challenging and everyone wants to fit in and be a part of. However, going with the crowd allows you to fit in but moves you away from your goal and passion. Stand your ground and be yourself.

Now is the time to strike!
I am Whitney, I am a part of the Social Media Engagement Team with Verizon Fios. Currently I am pursuing a Green Belt Certification and Cloud Solutions Architect Associate Certification. I am also a Film/TV Blogger, Published Author, Actor and Social Media Manager.
